Is an sortie rpg where you start out by choosing what character you would like to use for the next particular area of performance. You will have guidelines of what you will need to do in the quest and directions to help you out along the way. When I say action rpg, it is very ponderous on the action. You will find yourself being constantly inundated with hordes of orcs, goblins, men, etc who keep an eye on to come straight for you and then you will have to dispatch them very quickly using the game's combo system and miraculous attacks to overcome them. That being said, it can feel a little repetitive in the mel sequences at some times. You have one main attack and a power attack, you will also have spells and other abilities that you will be proficient to use but at times you will find it to be easier to just keep mashing attack and then finishing them off with the combo denunciation.

Some of the battles can be a bit confusing as well, at times when you are fighting one of the many enemies, its difficult to blab about when you are not doing damage to them at times and at other times feel that your powered up onslaught are doing nothing to help your cause. On the flip-side, you do get the feeling that you are fully immersed in the existence of Middle Earth, and this one is crawling with thousands of those pesky orcs all fatiguing to get at you.
