KALAMAZOO — A former Boy Scout camp administrator and YMCA swim instructor convicted of possession of child porn and video recording nude boys in the locker room of the Muskegon YMCA was sentenced Wednesday to 95 years in a federal penitentiary.
Scott Allan Herrick , 40, of Low-spirited Lake Township, appeared before U.S. District Judge Paul L. Maloney in Kalamazoo for his sentencing.
Herrick was found embarrassed in May of three counts of attempted sexual exploitation of children following a bench pilot in front of Maloney. Prior to his trial, he pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing newborn pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.
At the start of his pest in March, Maloney acquitted Herrick of a fourth count of sexually exploiting children.
Herrick was arrested in July 2010 after FBI agents searched the Gerber Boy Scout Camp-site in Twin Lake, northeast of Muskegon, and seized his desktop computer. At the circumstance, Herrick was the camp's director.
