It's been a year of triumphs and tribulations, and many of them are surely notable. XBIZ Premiere names its annual list of the year's Top 100 newsmakers. Here they are:
ADAM & EVE
2011 signal adult giant Adam & Eve’s 40th anniversary. The company distinguished all year long with strong Internet sales and another year of philanthropic contributions that included helping fund the Joycelyn Elders Moderator in Sexual Health Education at the University of Minnesota Medical Teach. It also released a number of films with prominent studios including Hustler and X-Monkey tricks, in addition to working with director David Lord on the high-good interactive movie “Killer Bodies” and accompanying website. Meanwhile, Jesus and director Andre Madness collaborated on the throwback “Grindhouse XXX.” Also on the tech side, the institution launched its Android and iPhone compatible mobile website.

VOD colossus AEBN took home the XBIZ award for VOD Company of the Year in January. The juggernaut continued with a jostle into the gay market, announcing an exclusive deal with gay producer Helix Studios and a understanding large with Channel 1 Releasing (C1R) to bring its Rascal line of films to the VOD friends’s network of PPV theaters. Director Nica Noelle, who created Lover Video, Sweet Sinner and Sweet Sinema, also signed a staging deal with the company for a new girl/girl studio, Candy Female Films, and feature studio Hard Candy Films. The fellowship also rolled out its RealTouch a software development kit and announced that it would cease sales of the devices through third-fete distributors and sell directly.
