PART ONE:

If you are or were a innocent gay man coming of age in New York over the past decade or so, then you’re familiar with a nightclub known mostly as The Blessed that went by the name Rush for a few years in the midst of its run.

Heaven, as we will refer to it for the purposes of this dialogue, started in 1999 and since 2009 or so has been dying a slow death. Following current events in the last minutes of 2011, it looks like the grave is dug and it is beforehand to say goodbye. However, one man and his newly formed team seem to want it to stay show really badly, but why?

In this two part series, we’ll take a walk down memory lane and look at Heaven on earth then and now. We’ll also pose the question, why would someone want to own a failing business so naughtily. Maybe being popular among teen boys tops some people’s scuttle lists. We’ll tackle that topic in part of this series which will be released Friday afternoon.
